AWARD WINNING CREATIVE COPYWRITER

AWARD WINNING CREATIVE COPYWRITER

The main thing to know About Me is that, beyond some Squarespace skills, I have lots of experience writing clever, silly, oxymoronic copy for brands big and small, local and global.

Here’s a selection of my Work for some of those brands over the last six years.

Pepsi Pulse

Pepsi took the musical pulse of cities around the UK and wanted to get Spotifiers checking their own. I supported this with some creative direction and a lot of copy, designed to reflect the attitude of each city.

Guinness x Premier League

The job here was to announce Guinness as the Official Beer of the Premier League, which I achieved with some simple copy supported by an emotional music bed, leaning into nostalgia to celebrate the union of the beautiful game and the black stuff.

Adidas Originals

I used punchy, short sentences that paid tribute to each Original’s evolution from their primary purpose to their subculture icon status.

Indeed’s Job Jukebox

This experience analysed Spotify’s data to identify key music trends for the top 22 professional categories on Indeed, then compared the trends with users’ listening habits to generate their personal top-five career matches.

On top of 7 genre targeted audio drivers, I wrote 22 sets of music/career factoids to inspire users on their job search journey, complete with pithy little headlines!

LYNX x Aitch

Lynx is all about unlocking inner confidence that’s already there. I was asked to give listeners that nudge over the line to turn up their energy levels and take what’s theirs.

I wrote a script for the man himself, Aitch, setting him up to give listeners a lesson in confidence.

The London Dungeon

This had to make the cut. It was a total dream, or nightmare, to convey the horrors of my favourite childhood attraction, the London Dungeon, without describing them.

In the end I scripted a call and response between copy and gruseome sound effects to replace the too-gruesome-for-radio words that describe the London Dungeon experience — kind of like gory censor beeps. This one’s 3D, too, so chuck on some headphones for extra “ew!”

Put me to work :)
